Thanks to dedicated friends like you, ICT has helped make great strides for the Tibetan cause this year:
- For the first time ever, the US is denying entry to Chinese Communist Party officials responsible for keeping Americans out of Tibet, in violation of the principle of reciprocity.
- United Nations human rights experts issued a strong, official message to the Chinese government about China’s plans to interfere in the succession of the next Dalai Lama.
- And the House of Representatives passed the Tibetan Policy and Support Act to guard the integrity of Tibetan Buddhism and do much more to assist the Tibetan people.
But there’s still progress to be made, and there’s no time to lose. President Xi Jinping recently revealed a taste of what’s to come when he commented on China’s need to build an “impregnable fortress” in Tibet. Because Beijing lacks legitimacy with the Tibetan people, he plans to rule with fear and intimidation.
In the face of threats like these, we must focus our compassion in an unwavering commitment to support Tibetans’ human rights. Can we count on you to stand with Tibetans by making an urgently needed gift today?
