If we had to choose one word to describe 2020, it would be: unpredictable. But by continuing to support Lonely Whale, YOU have remained constant. The ocean is deep. Our gratitude runs deeper. Here’s a quick look at our impact.The Obstacle is the PathQuestion: How do you get 400 youth from 36 countries to Vancouver in the middle of a pandemic? Answer: You don’t.

When it became clear that flying kids across the globe in a pandemic was out of the question, we knew we had to take Ocean Heroes Bootcamp virtual—which allowed us to reach more youth than ever.

Material Change

We launched the journey to Demand a Material Change [[link removed]] on Only One, an exciting new platform that is the culmination of hours of grit, laughter and a few tears (just being real with you—trying to change the world is hard work) in collaboration with our friends at Blue Sphere Foundation and SeaLegacy. The final product is like a cross between Netflix and Change.org, but with more whales. 🐳

We’ve convened sustainability leaders at eleven global companies to rethink their supply chains. NextWave Plastic’s members have successfully prevented 1000 metric tons of ocean-bound plastic from being swept out to sea.
