Hi John,

Please join Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) and the Evidence in Governance and Politics (EGAP) network for the following webinar:
Taxation and Formalization: From Evidence to Policy Making

This webinar showcases six research studies, carried out in coordination in Brazil, Colombia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, India, Malawi, and Nigeria, that assessed the role of information about the process of tax formalization—including costs and benefits—along with assistance and/or subsidies to reduce the cost to citizens. The event will highlight the integrated results from the studies along with actionable insights and policy recommendations.

The research presented is part of EGAP’s Metaketa Initiative, a coordinated research model designed to foster innovation and cumulative learning through simultaneous replication of research across multiple contexts.

Ana De La O, Associate Professor of Political Science at Yale University and the EGAP Taxation Metaketa committee chair, will present the results from the six studies. Juan Sebastian Robledo Botero, Director of Innovation and Private Sector Development at Colombia’s National Planning Department (DNP), will discuss policy implications in Colombia. Shana Warren, Research Scientist on IPA’s Path-to-Scale Research Team, will moderate a discussion and Q&A following the presentations.

We very much hope you will be able to join us. If there are others in your network who you believe would benefit from participating, please feel free to forward this invitation to them.
