Celebrate fall in Oswego with a free pumpkin for your front porch!

The Village of Oswego, in partnership with Allied First Bank, Byline Bank, First Midwest Bank, and Old Second Bank, will be handing out free pumpkins this Saturday, Oct. 10, from noon to 3 p.m. at the site of the new Oswego Entertainment Venue. 

 

Children are encouraged to wear their costumes.  A fall photo backdrop will be set up for optional, do-it-yourself, family photos.  

 

The future Oswego Entertainment Venue is coming soon to the 1000 block of Station Drive, near the Park N Ride parking lot. For pumpkin pick-up, head to the Park N Ride lot.  Staff and volunteers will be there to greet and direct you.

 

Pumpkins are available on a first-come, first-served basis until all 500 pumpkins have been given out.  Open to Oswego residents only.

There's still time to sign up!

The Community Drive-Around Scavenger Hunt, to benefit the Kendall County Food Pantry, will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17 starting at Oswego Village Hall. Open to participants from all communities, this family-friendly event offers a chance for your ghosts and goblins to dress up, decorate the car, and explore the Oswego community by car.

 

Form a household team, and drive through town following clues and snapping photos of your family with a variety cool Halloween props. Up to $100 in gift certificates will be awarded to the team with the best decorated car and the first team to solve all clues.  Advanced registration is $20 per family or $25 at the door.  Register and get more details at:  https://oswegocommunityscavengerhunt.eventbrite.com (Applicable online ticketing fees apply.)


Public health precautions remain in effect. Staff and volunteers will be observing guidelines from state and local health authorities, including distancing and face masks. Residents are asked to wear a face masks when interacting with staff and volunteers.
