Executive Action Aims to Reduce Dependence on Chinese Resources

President Donald Trump has made it clear, with or without the help of Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats, he is moving forward with his promise to put America first. The latest example is in the area of energy independence. The President recently took executive action to ensure that our economic prosperity and national security do not depend on importing natural resources from our adversaries.
His Sept. 30 executive order will allow America to expand domestic mining industry, create well-paying jobs, and reduce our dependence on China for critical, rare earth and other minerals by reducing unnecessary permitting delays. In addition, the president’s actions will ensure that America’s military dominance will not depend on natural resources from China.
Specifically, the order will allow the Department of the Interior to develop a program under the authority of the Defense Production Act to fund mineral processing that protects our national security.
As chairman of the Western Caucus, Congressman Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) has been trying to achieve this same goal through congressional action for years. However, his efforts have been stymied by House Democrats.
“The Executive Order signed by President Trump is a great step in the right direction,” Gosar said in a statement to Americans for Limited Government (ALG). “The Congressional Western Caucus has been at the forefront of highlighting our unsustainable reliance on foreign adversaries in our critical minerals supply chain and this Executive Order recognizes that fact. Whether it be in our supply chain for medical devices, military aircraft and weapons systems, or even cell phones critical minerals are essential to our everyday life and we have the ability to mine them here in the United States safely and responsibly. I call on Congress to follow the President’s lead and pass some of the numerous critical minerals related bills that we have before us,” Gosar added.
Gosar has introduced legislation to secure our critical minerals supply chain and is sponsoring an amendment in the annual defense bill to end our mineral reliance on China.
“Protecting our minerals supply chain is essential for our economic well-being and security, and I continue to fight for this cause,” Gosar concluded.
Over the last several decades, our nation’s mining industry has suffered due to political inaction, a broken permitting process, and predatory foreign competition from China. As a result, today the United States relies heavily on China for imports of numerous critical minerals that are essential to America’s national security and economic prosperity.
The administration has identified the following critical minerals as essential to our national security: Aluminum (bauxite), antimony, arsenic, barite, beryllium, bismuth, cesium, chromium, cobalt, fluorspar, gallium, germanium, graphite (natural), hafnium, helium, indium, lithium, magnesium, manganese, niobium, platinum group metals, potash, the rare earth elements group, rhenium, rubidium, scandium, strontium, tantalum, tellurium, tin, titanium, tungsten, uranium, vanadium, and zirconium."
As noted in the order, “For 31 of the 35 critical minerals, the United States imports more than half of its annual consumption.”
“But we don’t have to be reliant on China,” explained ALG president Rick Manning. “We have all these natural resources within our own borders. We have allowed counties like China and Russia to lock up our resources. Congress and past administrations have made it harder and harder to develop what resources we still have access to. President Trump’s action is a no-brainer. It will put Americans to work and improve our national security.”
The action builds upon previous Trump executive actions. During his first year in office, the President took action to implement a federal strategy to ensure secure and reliable supplies of critical minerals. In 2019, he signed five Presidential Determinations finding that domestic production of rare earth elements and materials is essential to the national defense. This newest order will cut down on unnecessary delays in permitting actions and make more funding available to help mining projects.
“While President Trump’s executive actions will make a difference in the short term, for long term prosperity, we really need these priorities and policies to come through congressional action,” concluded Manning. “That’s just another reason why this election is so important. We need not only a President who puts America First, we need a majority of the members of Congress to do the same.”

VP Debate: Freedom and Opportunity vs. Socialist Enslavement

Last night’s debate between Vice President Pence and Senator Harris was a direct contrast between conservative Midwestern values and San Francisco, California values. Pence's steady, low-key leadership is the perfect balance for President Trump as he leads America on his bold agenda. Senator Harris' main distinctions were being named the most liberal senator in a Senate that includes socialist Bernie Sanders and attacking Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh in what was nothing more than a #MeToo witch hunt.
One of the key issues in the debate is America’s relationship with the Communist Chinese government. While President Trump and Vice President Pence have worked to establish a fair trading relationship with China, Senator Harris criticized the tariffs placed on China’s cheating steel industry which has systematically destroyed American made steel jobs due to government subsidies and the use of near slave labor.
It was stunning that the clearly biased, unknown debate moderator from USA Today, did not ask about Senator Harris’ personal financial ties to the Communist Chinese government through her husband’s law practice as a partner at DLA Piper. While her husband Doug Emhoff left the firm in April of this year, it is imperative to know what actions he was engaged in with his communist Chinese partners over the past three years where Beijing’s overt attacks on America and the rest of the world became more and more apparent.
What’s more, Emhoff’s firm played a role in helping the Chinese with their infamous Belt and Road initiative, which has dramatically increased their influence in the world while permanently financially indebting many African nations to their Chinese colonizers.
And it is beyond belief that Harris who has little good to say about America, has no problem standing up for China, which is actively engaged in using child- and slave-labor according to the U.S. Labor Department, has set up concentration camps for millions of Muslim minorities and even kills political and religious dissidents by harvesting their organs one by one keeping the victim alive until their bodies are no longer of use, selling their vital organs to the wealthy around the world for transplant.
The lack of any outrage from the Biden-Harris ticket when it relates to China which has heavy business ties to both Biden and Harris is indicative that if elected, America will not any longer be a beacon of hope for oppressed peoples, but will soon kneel before its Chinese masters.
It is equally incomprehensible that Harris and Biden see nothing wrong with the hollowing out of the American economy due to Biden’s support for and eventual passage of Permanent Normalized Trade Relations with China in 2000, as well as Biden’s strong support for NAFTA in the 1990’s.
The very same NAFTA that President Donald Trump replaced with the U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade (USMCA) agreement that will bring thousands of automotive jobs back to the United States while also increasing agricultural trade with our North American trading partners. The Vice President wisely noted that Senator Harris voted against the USMCA, showing her disdain for the American worker who she would gladly sacrifice on her Green New Deal altar.
In other revelations, Harris joined Biden in refusing to pledge to not pack the Supreme Court, which would eliminate the independence of the judiciary, instead making up a story about why Abraham Lincoln did not appoint a Supreme Court Justice in 1864.
Here is why packing the Supreme Court ends judicial independence. If the executive and legislative branches choose to expand the nation’s high court to rubber stamp their dubious constitutional policies, they have effectively ended the rule of law as the courts will not be a check on unconstitutional actions as they were designed to be.
Yet, Harris, an attorney and former prosecutor, refused to pledge to protect the Supreme Court’s independence.
On taxes, Harris tried to have it both ways when she said that her ticket would end the Trump tax cut which lowered taxes for middle class Americans by $2,000 on average, while denying that their policy is a tax hike on the middle class. Huh?
And finally, she and former Vice President Biden want to tell the public that they won’t destroy America’s energy independence through imposing the Green New Deal which Harris eagerly co-sponsored, yet their website still says that the Green New Deal underpins their climate policy which is endorsed by Green New Deal authors Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders.
America has been given a choice of competing visions for the future. Vice President Pence represents the hope of freedom and opportunity in line with the DNA of America. California Senator Harris represents the failed Marxist philosophy that impoverishes and enslaves people wherever it is tried in the world. Mike Pence represents the solid middle American values that have made America great, and Harris promises to impose San Francisco values on the rest of America. The choice is clear.

A Biden’s Presidency Poses Existential Threat to Constitution

With Election Day less than a month away, the race for President in 2020 is coming down to the wire, with President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden both offering reasons why they think they will come out on top — and why undecided voters should come their way.
The incumbent, President Trump, is offering a vision for safely reopening America, schools and the economy from the COVID-19 pandemic, to get working families back on the job — with 14 million jobs already recovered — and to return life to as close to normal as soon as is possible.
Whereas, the challenger, Biden, appears to want to remain in the state-led economic lockdowns for the foreseeable future, telling ABC News in August that “we cannot get the country moving until we control the virus” and “in order to keep the country running and moving, and the economy growing and people employed, you have to fix the virus,” and adding that if it was recommended to him, “I would shut it down…”
Presumably, Biden and his supporters are waiting for a vaccine before it is ever deemed safe to go back to normal, but what if there is no effective vaccine? What then?
It’s a legitimate question. After all, there has never been an effective vaccine for coronavirus in history. Not for SARS. Not for MERS. Not for the common cold. And not yet for COVID-19.
Would Biden just leave the economy shut down forever?
Biden winning as he and state governors indefinitely holding the American people hostage in order to extract financial concessions from Congress to transform the economy — think Green New Deal, universal income, socialized medicine, ongoing riots in our cities, etc. — is a very real possibility the American would do well to consider before November.
Because in every election since 1932, every Democrat winning the White House in his first term has also won the House and the Senate, often with super majorities. They sweep into power in remarkable fashion.
Franklin Roosevelt won the election and took the House and the Senate in 1932. Harry Truman went on to win both in 1948. So did John Kennedy in 1960. Lyndon Johnson won the House and Senate in 1964. As did Jimmy Carter in 1976. And Bill Clinton in 1992. And finally, Barack Obama won the trifecta in 2008.
And to cement their majorities and the legislative gains they make in 2020, Democrats have already threatened to abolish the filibuster in order to amend the Judiciary Act of 1869 and pack the Supreme Court — increasing the threshold way beyond the current nine justices set by law.
In the first presidential debate on Sept. 29, Biden refused to answer the question of abolishing the filibuster and packing the court, saying, “Whatever position I take on that, that will become the issue… I’m not going to answer that question…”
Given another opportunity to quell public fears of Democrats’ court-packing scheme, Biden told WTAE in Pittsburgh, “You know, that’s exactly what they want me to talk about… I’m not going to play Trump’s game…”
In other words, Biden refuses to take abolishing the filibuster and packing the Supreme Court off the table — something that has not been done for more than 150 years.
But there is no question. When given the opportunity to pack the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, the Obama-Biden administration wasted no time, stacking it seven to four with Democrat-appointed judges. And you should be worried. The changes Democrats want to make to the country they aim make permanent.
For Republicans, then, 2020 is all or nothing. Either, the nation reelects President Trump to another four years, or perhaps the GOP spends a generation in the wilderness as the radical left transforms the Constitution, packs federal courts, institutes the Green New Deal, socializes our health care system, shuts down our economy, lets mob rule consume our cities and makes the nation more vulnerable to foreign adversaries.
This is the most radical platform any Democratic candidate has ever run on.
2020 then is not merely a choice election that will be ruled by turnout — it is an existential threat to the U.S. Constitution and the civil society if Biden wins. This is a bid for one-party rule.
