I’m not going to give any air time to the Coronavirus in Chief. Rather, I want to talk about us. Because he’s not going to decide who wins. We are.
But it’s gonna take #AllOfUs pulling out all the stops and throwing down through November 3rd and beyond. If you are still operating business as usual and going about your life as if we’re not staring down a fascist regime, then we are gonna lose this fight. Because the only thing that can overcome a rising tide of conspiracy theories and disinformation, the only thing that can compete with a rigged electoral system, the only thing that can defeat a power grab, is all of us moving and responding collectively towards the liberation and justice that we all deserve.
The future is ours, but only if we choose to change now and take action together.
27 days. Let’s do this.

Trump is using his platform to bully us into believing that our laws don’t apply to him, to trash our democracy and to scare us into thinking our ballots won’t be counted. But he doesn’t decide who wins the election. We do [[link removed]]. [click to tweet] [[link removed]]

Keeping people focused on a strong, robust election process is a must. But we must also prepare ourselves for a coup. Here’s 10 things you need to know [[link removed]-]. [click to tweet] [[link removed]]
VOTE EARLY: More than 4 million Americans have already voted. That’s 50 times more than at this time in 2016! Early voting is starting [[link removed]] in California, Iowa, Maine, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, South Carolina, Ohio, Indiana and Arizona. #VoteByOct22 is a reminder to get your ballot in by 10/22 to ensure a landslide on Election Day. What’s your plan?
DOWN BALLOT: 30% of voters don’t vote down ballot. That’s typically because they don’t know who or what to vote for. So we’re making it easy for you. Our VOTEWELL Ballot Guide [[link removed]] is a tool that resources communities with what they need to come together around the ballot, share knowledge and wisdom, have mindful debate and make choices the benefit the wellbeing of everyone. it’s a shared practice of voting as collective care.
PROTECT THE POLLS: With the stakes being as high as they are, voter suppression already more rampant than ever, and the nationalist right emboldened by conspiracy theorists and the President himself, we’re depending on you to ensure people are able to vote freely and safely. Sign up to become an Election Defender and join us for a training NEXT TUESDAY at 730p ET. [[link removed]]
How do we practice non violence in a violent world? That is the question Ruby Sales has been asking her whole life. She should know - she not only survived the state sanctioned war on the members of the Southern Freedom Movement but helped destabilize one of the most powerful White supremacist governments without firing a shot. She reminds us “there’s something about a movement spirit where you transcend fear and you become a part of something larger than fear.” In a study of a dozen modern cases of coup attempts, Stephen Zunes discovered that eight of the struggles were won by the people. Defeating a power grab (like the one we are anticipating in November [[link removed]-]), is not won by violence in response to violence, but by prepared, adaptive and coordinated mass non-violent action. This election is not just about voting, it is about getting ready and getting in formation. And that’s exactly what we’re doing.
Next Wednesday (7pET), two long distance runners for justice, Ruby Sales and Bettie Mae Fikes, join us for a webinar on Building a Movement and Living To Tell About it. [[link removed]]
