Yesterday, Donald Trump -- in a series of erratic tweets -- shut the door on COVID relief talks with Congress.

Trump is holding hostage the relief that central and western New Yorkers and Americans across this country are desperate for. This is a complete abdication of his responsibility as the supposed leader of this country, and it is immoral and cruel.

But it's not a surprise, because Trump has shown us who he is all along. His and his administration’s cruelty and corruption know no bounds. And it is inexcusable that Congressman John Katko still supports Trump for re-election.

We are facing severe economic and healthcare crises, and need leaders who will fight for us tirelessly. Instead, by actively supporting Donald Trump -- and by voting against a comprehensive COVID relief package that should have become law five months ago -- John Katko demonstrates that he is completely and utterly disconnected from the people of central and western New York.
