John,

Government officials have shown an incredible disregard for COVID-19 safety protocols. Already this week, three White House building staff members — nonpolitical staff, including the butlers, valets, and housekeepers, many of whom are older, Black, and Latinx — have tested positive for COVID. But still, Vice President Pence, who has been exposed to people who have since tested positive, is traveling for tonight's debate.

Pence is the leader of the Presidential Coronavirus Task Force, so he should know how serious this is. He should know not to put others at risk. He should know how caregiving families are struggling with the fallout from this pandemic.

Our elected officials need to take the pandemic seriously. If they've been exposed, they should quarantine to keep their colleagues, staff members, and the building service staff safe and healthy. And when they're able to return to work safely, their priority should be helping struggling families recover.

Will you send a note to your Senators, urging them to take COVID-19 seriously and provide the support caregiving families need?

Thanks,

Beth
