Dear John,
It’s no secret the women and girls imprisoned in the Trump administration’s immigration detention jails are being violated physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
The conditions in these detention centers are inhumane. Sexual and physical assault are a constant threat. Women are denied access to birth control, abortion care, and personal hygiene necessities. Pregnant women and new mothers are forced to live in cold, overcrowded cells with little to no access to prenatal care. And mothers have been separated from their children.
Enough is enough. NOW is demanding humane treatment for detained immigrants. Last week we launched the Unlock the Future campaign to advocate for women and girls suffering in detention prisons. Together we’re making our voices heard across the country for those who can’t speak for themselves, and you can join us and support women who need you today.
