Amazon has become Prime example of Censorship

Dear John,

In 1995, Amazon opened up shop as "earth's biggest bookstore." But today, their selection of titles on certain topics is narrowing -- or disappearing altogether.

When one LGBT activist lodged a complaint with Amazon about books sold by authors who once identified as gay or lesbian, the mega-retailer decided to ban a series of titles!

Amazon has long claimed to support free speech and a "diversity of voices." Their stated corporate values include defending "diverse perspectives" and "having backbone." But those are apparently no match for liberal protestors seeking to silence dissent.

In recent weeks, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and other activist groups have made inroads with petitions and media campaigns.

This effort by the most radical activist groups in the nation is evidence of an urgent moral crisis. Will you support Family Research Council so we can meet this challenge?

Most of the authors recently banned by Amazon have practiced in psychology and counseling for decades.

Their Christian faith plays a significant role in how they help people facing unwanted same-sex attraction.

Few voices in today's anything-goes culture have the courage to stand boldly, or the knowledge to speak with care and accuracy to these complex issues. For decades, FRC experts have been devoted to making the case for bedrock values with up-to-date research and analysis.

"There is research showing this therapy works," said FRC senior fellow Peter Sprigg recently on our daily radio show. "A number of publications and peer-reviewed scientific studies have shown that it can be effective. So anytime you hear an LGBT activist say there's no research showing it works, it's a lie."

FRC is helping educate concerned citizens with truth. FRC's daily radio show "Washington Watch," broadcast from our state-of-the-art studio, airs on over 280 radio stations nationwide... with a total population coverage of over 70 million Americans and even more listeners online and through our app.

Informed, experienced guests on "Washington Watch" like Peter Sprigg help educate families on responding to current events. He has compiled research on sexuality and gender for decades.

At FRC, we will not stand by while biblical truth is silenced by the world's largest online retailer. With your help, we will stand up to them -- defending every believer's First Amendment rights.

FRC has joined a growing chorus pressuring Amazon to stop the viewpoint discrimination. Thousands have signed a new petition calling on the mega-retailer to reverse their decision.

"In taking these resources away, Amazon has not only become hypocritical to its own values," said Ethan Martin, a petitioner who used to identify and live as a gay man. "They have attempted to silence those of us who have left the LGBT lifestyle."

Those on the front lines desperately need reinforcements! Your tax-deductible donation to FRC answers this urgent need, to keep our critical work of education on the advance.

FRC will continue spreading the truth so people can find the help they need to discover their true identities in Christ -- and not in the world's fabricated definitions of sexuality. Thank you for your prayers and sacrificial gifts, which we commit to wisely steward.

P.S. - As Amazon bans books, we must ask: Is orthodox Christian faith now a disqualification from participation in the marketplace? Every day at FRC, our mission is to turn the tide in these pressing battles for liberty. We value your much-needed financial support in this hour.
