It’s Mental Health Awareness Week. Nearly one in five U.S. adults (more than 47 million people) live with a mental illness according to SAMHSA’s 2018 National Survey on Drug Use and Health. BPC’s Behavioral Health Integration Task Force is working to develop solutions to improve the integration of behavioral health and primary care services in the United States, achieve better health outcomes, and reduce costs. The task force also aims to address the urgent need for behavioral health care during the COVID-19 pandemic, with attention to populations that have long-experienced disparities in access to care.
