The Actors Fund

Dear Actors Fund Friends,

It’s not always easy to ask for help. That’s why The Actors Fund offers services across multiple aspects of life that make the path to assistance as clear, informative and impactful as possible.

Figuring out health care and health insurance is one such area that often causes confusion and frustration. Thankfully, the Artists Health Insurance Resource Center and Entertainment Health Insurance Solutions (for California residents) are two teams at The Actors Fund ready to help! If you’re a member of the performing arts community who needs guidance regarding health care, we welcome you to fill out a brief online form and a Health Benefits specialist will respond within two business days to address your questions. It’s that easy!

The Actors Fund, in partnership with Mount Sinai Doctors, is also offering free flu shots for those in the entertainment industry who are uninsured in New York City. The Friedman Health Center for the Performing Arts is now accepting appointments for October 29, October 30, November 11 and November 12; sign up now if you’re without insurance and in need of a free flu shot.

We’re very proud of all of our programs and services that have helped nearly 25,000 people so far in 2020. Thank you for helping make this work possible!

We are thrilled to announce a one-night-only Halloween benefit concert presentation of The Nightmare Before Christmas, Disney’s classic animated film, as interpreted by some of Broadway’s most ghoulishly talented artists! The evening will be presented by Tony Award winner James Monroe Iglehart (Aladdin, Hamilton, Memphis), in cooperation with Tim Burton, Danny Elfman and Disney Music Group.

Iglehart and his friends—including Rafael Casal (Blindspotting, Bad Education), Adrienne Warren (Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, Shuffle Along, Bring It On: The Musical), Danny Burstein (Moulin Rouge!, My Fair Lady, Fiddler on the Roof), Nik Walker (Ain’t Too Proud, Hamilton, Motown The Musical), Lesli Margherita (Dames at Sea, Matilda, EmojiLand) and Rob McClure (Chaplin, Mrs. Doubtfire, Beetlejuice)—will perform using only items and clothing found around their houses…and their imaginations.

Don’t miss this delightful evening of music, storytelling and Halloween fun!
