The time has come—the 2020 Election is NOW. If you’re registered to vote, you will soon receive your ballot by mail, if it hasn’t already arrived.

Considering the urgency, we recommend making a plan ([link removed][UNIQID]) to vote as early as possible. Be an #OctoberVoter and get your ballot in well before November.

Tracking your ballot, before you get it and after you cast it: California is providing online, email, text, and phone hotline resources to voters to check the status of their ballot this year. San Francisco voters can track their ballot on the Voter Portal at [link removed][UNIQID] voters throughout the state can sign up for ballot tracking notifications at [link removed][UNIQID].

Haven’t gotten anything in the mail about this election? Check your voter registration status right now. Yes, even California purges its voter rolls, so if you haven’t voted in a few elections, you may have been removed. If you’ve moved or changed your name, your registration may be out of date. It never hurts to check and it only takes a minute.
* If you’re registered in San Francisco, use the City’s Voter Portal ([link removed][UNIQID]) .
* Elsewhere in California, use the state’s Voter Status page ([link removed][UNIQID]) .

Not registered to vote? You’ll need to register by October 19. Register to vote ([link removed][UNIQID]) TODAY. We recommend you do so as early as possible—this year, we can’t afford to leave anything until the last minute. You can register to vote quickly and easily at [link removed]—do it now!

Looking for guidance? The presidential race isn’t the only thing to vote on! There are California propositions ([link removed][UNIQID]) and City ballot measures ([link removed][UNIQID]) , and we have our ballot guides plus other resources on our vote page ([link removed][UNIQID]) . This page also links to all of the information described above—it’s your one-stop shop for all the information you’ll need to make your voice heard in this election.

Make a plan NOW to vote.

You can mail in your ballot using our beloved Postal Service—the earlier the better. Every county will also have places where you can drop it off early; in San Francisco, that will be the Voting Center ([link removed][UNIQID]) at Bill Graham Auditorium. If you leave it until Election Day, you can drop off your ballot at your local polling place.

Protect the vote. Our democracy is at a critical turning point right now, and we need to stay informed, stay alert, and stay active. If you want to do more to protect democracy than cast your own vote, you can help get out the vote, serve as a poll worker, monitor the count, and counter disinformation. You can read more about all of these options on our blog ([link removed][UNIQID]) .

Keep fighting to protect the Supreme Court

Despite an ongoing COVID outbreak in the White House and Senate, Trump and the Republicans are more determined than ever to seat far-right activist judge Amy Coney Barrett on the Supreme Court. Right now our Senators can and must use procedure to slow down the nomination of a new judge. Our demand is clear: block any nominee to the Supreme Court until after the inauguration!

Call your Senators ([link removed][UNIQID]) and tell them: Defend Ginsburg’s Supreme Court Seat!

Our Representatives, especially Speaker Pelosi, can also help slow and stop the nomination process by passing legislation that requires immediate Senate action ahead of other business, like amendments to Senate bills, articles of impeachment, and more.

Call your Representative ([link removed][UNIQID]) and tell her: Defend Ginsburg’s Supreme Court Seat!
