BREAKING NEWS: Michigan’s Attorney General just charged two right-wing fraudsters with felonies for starting a racist voter suppression scheme in Detroit—involving fake robocalls to Black voters, which spread misinformation to make people doubt the safety of voting by mail.

We can’t let the right-wing silence our voices, deny our rights, and cheat their way to winning. Failure is not an option for all of the people and communities we care about.

With voting underway in my home state of Michigan—a crucial state to defeating Trump—we’re running a massive voter outreach operation to counter misinformation, empower people to be voters, and ensure record-breaking turnout to vote out Trump. But we’re up against well-funded misinformation campaigns like these racist robocalls.

We have an ambitious field strategy to create record-breaking turnout―more than each of the last two presidential elections. We know we can accomplish this, if we have the resources: In our recent August primary, our field team was able to increase voter turnout by 21% from the 2018 primary.

We want to keep the numbers climbing, because each vote matters: In 2016, Donald Trump won Michigan―and our 16 Electoral College points—by fewer than 11,000 votes.

We can make up this difference in my district alone. For example, one group we’re contacting is the over 40,000 people who voted in 2012 but didn’t vote in 2016.
