The fight to protect health care access for Americans with pre-existing conditions is still on.

The Trump Administration just issued new guidance that would allow states to sell junk health insurance plans that don’t fully protect people with pre-existing conditions. The administration is also backing a lawsuit that would overturn the Affordable Care Act which would remove all protections for people with pre-existing conditions.

This would be a disaster for our community. If the administration gets its way, upwards of 289,000 people in my district who have pre-existing conditions stand to lose all or some of t heir health coverage.

Congress returns to Washington tomorrow. Before they reconvene, can you sign my petition calling on them to take action and protect affordable health coverage for Americans with pre-existing conditions?

Americans shouldn’t have to resort to opening a GoFundMe to pay their medical expenses or travel to Mexico to buy their insulin. But that’s what we’re seeing across the country. And it’s because Trump and Mitch McConnell are treating our health like a political prop. It’s shameful and it needs to end.
