Tonight, Kamala Harris and Mike Pence will go head to head in Salt Lake City for the vice presidential debate.

Pence has always been the carrot to Trump’s stick, the presentable and poised enabler who can get through a debate without interrupting his opponent, and the family-friendly smiler and crowd-pleaser who almost makes the Republican Party seem reasonable compared to his running mate.

That’s why it’s so important we remember just how terrible Mike Pence really is. He’s backed legislation that requires hospitals to check and report the status of their immigrant patients so that undocumented Americans can be deported while they’re at their most vulnerable. He supports overturning Roe v. Wade, which would disproportionately harm women of color. And he supports legalized discrimination against LGBTQ+ Americans on the grounds of “religious freedom.”

So before he breaks out his pressed suit and his practiced one-liners on the debate stage tonight, let’s get ahead of the polling bump the Republican ticket could see in the coming days. Let’s remind Americans of who Mike Pence really is -- will you help us send a message? Tell us now:
