Yesterday, on the first day of the Supreme Court term, Justices Alito and
Thomas called for Obergefell v. Hodges to be overturned. Obergefell is the
landmark Supreme Court case that guarantees marriage equality for same-sex
couples.
If Senate Republicans steal this Supreme Court seat and force Amy Coney
Barrett’s nomination through the Senate before the inauguration —
violating their own precedent — LGBTQIA+ rights and marriage equality
could be on the chopping block, alongside access to healthcare in the
midst of a pandemic, reproductive freedom, and other fundamental rights.

We must stand resolutely, shoulder-to-shoulder with the LGBTQIA+ community
and all those who stand to have their rights stripped away when they come
under assault from an Administration and Republicans in Congress bent on
cruelty and discrimination.

everything they can to stop Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination to the Supreme
Court.
