John,
Many crises are converging today in ways that challenge all of us—but organized movements are converging too. And young people especially are making the connections about what's causing all these crises, and the common solutons we need to solve them.
Throughout the month of September, we released a new set of shareable graphics [[link removed]] each week that unpack the ways that militarization feeds into the world around us, from police on the streets, to immigration policy, to the climate crisis crashing down around us.
Each week, partners from across movements have helped us explain how militarism impacts our lives and ways to build power against it.
Tomorrow night, we’re going live on Facebook with our movement allies for a conversation that brings our entire “ Defund Militarism [[link removed]] ” series together!
Join us to talk with advocates at United We Dream, UndocuBlack Network, Dissenters, Sunrise Movement, and the ACLU of Texas Border Rights Center for a timely cross-movement conversation about demilitarization and community investment.
Tune into the discussion live on Facebook this Wednesday at 7pm ET / 4pm PT to learn more and contribute to the conversation. [[link removed]]
We hope you’ll join us tomorrow night for insights from movement organizers doing the work on the ground!
Together, we can defund militarism and invest in the future we want.
In solidarity,
Lorah, Ashik, Lindsay, and the NPP team at IPS

For the past month, we teamed up with United We Dream to draw out how militarized policing, immigration, & climate crisis are connected.
