John – in a week filled with chaos and uncertainty, one thing remains clear: While Donald Trump avoids transparency about his illness at all costs, COVID-19 is going unchecked in our country and running rampant in the White House.
In a press conference that was supposed to be focused on providing critical information to the American people, Trump's doctor cited HIPAA – a health privacy law – as the reason he couldn't be transparent about the president's condition.
Well, that's not how HIPAA works. I should know … I wrote it. What Trump's doctor was really saying is this: My patient, Donald Trump, has not given me permission to be transparent. But Trump has refused to be transparent about COVID-19 since it began – why would he start now?
During this historically tough time for our country, we need real leaders in Washington – leaders who will actually look out for the American people, not keep them in the dark and toss their well-being aside to push a dangerous political agenda.
That's why I'm fighting tirelessly to hold the Trump administration accountable for its failure of leadership during this crisis – but I need to know where you stand. So please, let me know before midnight tonight:
Do you approve of how the Trump administration is handling the COVID-19 pandemic?

Thank you for making your voice heard,
Donna
