We’ve already reached out to over 16 million voters -- but that’s not nearly enough in a time like this

Indivisibles,

With the news changing by the minute, it’s easy to get distracted these days. But we can’t lose sight of our biggest priorities, and we have less than 30 days to make them a reality. Early voting is already underway in many states, and we’re working as hard as we can to fulfill our three key goals for the year: get Trump out of the White House, take back the Senate, and hold a majority in the House.

Our Plan to Win

Working to win an election during an unchecked pandemic is a new experience -- and many of our tried-and-true tactics like canvassing just aren’t possible this year. At the same time, Trump and his cronies are already working to cast doubt on the validity of the election even while they’re personally interfering to make it less secure and less accessible to voters.

All of that means that we can’t just win this year. We need to win in a landslide.

The stakes are impossibly high: raging wildfires and hurricanes, millions of COVID-19 cases, and ongoing uprisings demanding racial justice are all showing us just how crucial it is that we replace Trump and his enablers. So we have to go all out -- using every tactic that’s safe to do, at an unprecedented scale -- to make sure we win up and down the ballot this year.

From our work to elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, to our plans to take back the Senate with the Payback Project, to all our strategies to elect our endorsed candidates to the House, our staff and volunteers are working day in and day out to deliver a blowout victory. And we have less than 30 days left to do it all.

We’ll tell you all about how we’re making it happen below, but if you’re ready to support this work right now, click here to make a $10 donation.

The Tactics We’re Using

We’re using every tactic we can think of to make it happen. Here are some of the ways we’ve been hard at work:

  • Phonebanking and textbanking -- using multiple different tools, we’re helping volunteers across the nation contact voters in key races to do persuasion and get-out-the-vote work

  • Virtual events -- getting Indivisible groups and volunteers together looks different than it has in years past, but we’re building the cohesive teams it’ll take to get us across the finish line

  • Ads -- digital ads, radio ads, print ads: we’re getting the word out in as many ways as we can. We’re targeting key constituencies like rural voters, non-English speakers, and people in our crucial target states nationwide

  • Trainings -- our organizing team is running a massive training program, giving people the skills and tools they need to work effectively throughout the election, no matter what tactics they’re using

  • Relational organizing -- volunteers are having tough conversations with loved ones, doing the real work it takes to move voters and get them to the polls

Using these tactics and more, we’ve already reached out to more than 16 million voters -- but that’s not nearly enough in a time like this. So we’re buckling down and kicking into overdrive for these last crucial few weeks before Election Day.

The Biggest Expenses

Now that there’s a vacant Supreme Court seat and the legacy of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the line, we’re fighting harder than ever to win this year -- and that means we’re spending more too. Here are the top three big expenses we’re looking at right now:

  • We just added $285,000 more toward our peer-to-peer texting program -- direct voter contact is key to identifying supporters, demystifying the changes in the voting process, and getting as many people out to vote this year as possible

  • We also allocated $65,000 more to direct support for candidates -- we’re focused on winning up and down the ballot this year, because every seat we win makes it more likely we can save our democracy and refocus priorities where it matters: the people

  • $243,000 in ads spending -- getting the word out to as many people as possible is crucial this fall, and we’re meeting the people where they are with digital ads and more

We Need Your Help

These new expenses will fund work that’s crucial to winning this year -- and we’re aiming to raise $683,000 this October. We’re a grassroots-funded organization because we want the work we do to be fueled by the people and to represent the people. That means we rely on people like you to make our work possible. Our tools, ads, and time don’t come free: can you donate $10 today to keep our 2020 election plans moving and support all our work?
