Dear John,

Oregonians will start receiving their ballots next week. There’s a lot at stake for Oregon’s people and places this election. Please make an urgent contribution to the OLCV PAC today and help us elect pro-environment candidates in races from local to statewide. If you are eligible for Oregon’s Political Tax Credit, you can give $50 or $100 to the OLCV PAC and get it back when you file your 2020 taxes! DONATE: [link removed]

This election is critically important for our environment and our democracy. It seems like a lifetime ago now, but remember—it was just earlier this year when Republicans in the State Senate walked out on the job in order to kill the Clean Energy Jobs bill for the second time. A key part of the work we do at OLCV is holding our elected officials accountable. Now it’s time for us to hold these legislators accountable for walking out on our environment and our democracy.

Support our work by making a donation to the OLCV PAC today. If you’re eligible for Oregon’s Political Tax Credit, you can give $50 or $100 to the OLCV PAC and get your donation back when you file your taxes next year. It’s a free donation that you can use to support our work electing environmental champions. DONATE: [link removed]

Here are just a few of the candidates we are working to elect:

Shemia Fagan for Secretary of State
This is a critically important statewide office that oversees our state’s elections and is one of three that make up our State Land Board. Shemia is running against State Senator Kim Thatcher, an extreme right-wing Republican Senator who walked out on our democracy. Shemia is an environmental champion with a lifetime score of 91% in our Environmental Scorecard and she’s the best choice for Oregon’s next Secretary of State.

Eileen Kiely for Senate District 27 (Bend/Deschutes County)
Eileen Kiely is dedicated to giving Central Oregon the tools and resources it needs to transition to a clean energy economy. She loves the outdoors and is passionate about protecting the snowpack that's so crucial to Central Oregon's water security and sense-of-place. Unlike incumbent Senator Tim Knopp—who walked out on our democracy to stop climate legislation—Eileen Kiely will stand up for her constituents and support climate action.

Deb Patterson for Senate District 10 (Salem)
Deb has a background in health care and education, and she believes that all Oregonians should have access to high quality healthcare, safe and affordable housing, and a healthy environment. Deb is running against State Senator Denyc Boles, who voted against the Clean Energy Jobs bill when she was in the House and after she was appointed to the Senate joined fellow Republicans in walking out on the job. It’s time to hold Sen. Boles accountable and elect Deb Patterson who will show up to work and fight for Oregon’s people, places, and environment.

Jason Kropf for House District 54 (Bend/Deschutes County)
As a father, Jason Kropf wants to make sure we leave a better world for the next generation. Jason is one of Central Oregon’s climate leaders, and he’s long shown his support for transitioning Oregon to a clean energy economy, protecting our clean air and water, and making our communities more resilient to drought and wildfire. Unlike incumbent Rep. Cheri Helt, whose campaign is funded by Chevron and BP and who voted against climate legislation, Jason is willing to stand up to big polluters and do what it takes to create a better world.

That means you can give $50 or $100 to the OLCV PAC and get it back as a tax credit when you file your 2020 taxes. Don’t qualify or already used your tax credit?
