ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Arrests can have wide-ranging consequences for individuals and the broader community, yet little is known about the factors underlying arrest trends and racial disparities. How have changes in crime rates and recent criminal justice reforms affected arrests in California? Do local demographic, economic, law enforcement, and jail conditions play a role? PPIC researcher Brandon Martin will outline findings from a new report, and a panel of experts will discuss the implications for state policy and local communities.
