Friend— If you’ve been reading the news, you’d swear that Mitch McConnell is some kind of contortionist. Every day, he’s finding a new way to twist himself in knots to justify the cynical, partisan games he’s playing. This weekend, after three senators tested positive for COVID-19, he was forced to do the responsible thing for once and announced that the Senate would shut down for two weeks to stop the outbreak. But then, in the very same announcement, he said he’d allow the Judiciary Committee to move forward with its scheduled hearings on the Supreme Court nominee. Think about that. Two members of that committee have already tested positive and several others have been directly exposed to the virus—it’s undeniable that Mitch’s decision will put lives at risk. For anybody else, it would be inexplicable and reckless. For Mitch McConnell, it’s business as usual. The only thing that matters to him right now is winning the fight over the Supreme Court, so they can finally strike down the Affordable Care Act. Of course he’s willing to risk lives to get his way—his definition of success is an outcome that will cause millions of people to lose their health care in the middle of a pandemic. Look, this isn’t going to stop until we, the people, make it stop. This election is our chance to shut down Mitch’s Senate… for good. If you’re with me, I need your help—chip in if you can. Let’s go win, Amy
