Barack Obama has issued a warning to Americans: Donald Trump is trying to suppress your vote. Don’t let him.

Trump and his allies have indeed engaged in voter suppression tactics against Americans, particularly Americans of color. Proof recently surfaced that the Trump campaign targeted 3.5 million Black voters in an effort to keep them home in 2016 -- and it’s more than likely the president and his cronies are up to the same tricks this election.

But we can beat the GOP and the crackpot tyrant in the White House very simply: by voting, particularly by voting early. More than a million Americans have already done so, a staggering increase from 2016’s early vote numbers.

That’s only a miniscule fragment, however, of the total number of votes we’ll need to beat Trump in November -- and to replace his GOP enablers in Congress with progressive champions.

Right now, our candidates are nowhere near the thresholds they’ll need to hit in order to win in November, and we’re nowhere near the funds we’ll need to get them there. At the moment, we’re $4,207 short.

We know you’ve been horrified by the way Trump has dismantled Obama’s legacy. We know you’re energized by the guidance and direction Obama is giving us now to get this country back on the right track. That’s exactly what we’re trying to do -- but we need your help to do it.

 

We must do everything we can to beat the Republicans’ last-ditch attempts at suppressing our votes. We MUST elect progressives to the House, Senate, and the White House. If you agree, vote early -- and pitch in what you can now to support the campaigns of Democratic candidates in battleground states who you won’t be able to vote for this election. We need everyone doing everything they can to make good on Obama’s advice and ensure Democratic victory in November -- and it starts with you.
