John,

In times like these, it’s easy to feel like we have no control. It’s easy to resign ourselves to this nightmare and believe that there’s nothing we can do. But if you’ve ever been on a Sunrise phone bank you know that’s not true.

You’ve seen the faces of hundreds of young people believing in their own power. You’ve watched the chat explode with stars as our calls turn out voters. And you’ve been a part of transformative political work across the country.

In the last 6 months, we’ve made over 3 million calls and helped deliver victory for movement champions like Cori Bush, Jamaal Bowman, and Ed Markey. Other incredible candidates, like Mike Siegel and Marie Newman, won their primaries and are headed to the general because of our work.

If you’ve never joined a Sunrise phone bank, this is your moment. [[link removed]] And this week we need all hands on deck for Marquita Bradshaw and Paula Jean Swearengin, two incredible Senate candidates running visionary campaigns in the South.

If you’re like me, you’ve spent the last few weeks on a seemingly never ending rollercoaster of dumpster fire news, each new update more infuriating than the last. There was last week’s debate, revelations about taxes, Amy Coney Barrett, and most recently Trump and many other GOP leaders getting COVID. Of course, all of this is happening on top of the larger crises we’re facing.

But what we do over the next four weeks can change everything, and it starts with taking back the Senate. [[link removed]]

Marquita is an environmental justice leader and single mom from South Memphis. She shocked Tennessee when she won the Democratic primary and is now the only Black woman running for Senate in the whole country. Tonight, Sunrise leaders in Tennessee are hosting a town hall with Marquita to chat about her historic race and her vision for a Green New Deal in TN and across the South. You don’t want to miss it. Paula Jean is a coal miner’s daughter and granddaughter who’s been raising hell in West Virginia for years. She’s running on a bold, unapologetic platform to transform her state and is up against one of the most corrupt Senators in the country. Every Sunday, Sunrisers make calls for Paula Jean, as well as Cathy Kunkel, another incredible grassroots candidate in West Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District. Click here to sign up. Imagine if we win these races -- not only will we help flip the Senate and end Mitch McConnell's reign. We’ll prove that the Green New Deal can win everywhere. West Virginia needs a Green New Deal. Tennessee needs a Green New Deal. The South needs a Green New Deal . Let’s win this.

See you tonight [[link removed]] and see you Sunday! [[link removed]]
