Friend —
Two years after Hurricane Maria, it’s clear: President Trump has failed the THREE MILLION American citizens living in Puerto Rico.
Just last week, Trump moved to deal even further damage to Puerto Rico, depleting the island’s disaster relief funds by $400 million to fund his inhumane “border security” operation.
As Mayor of New York City, home to 700,000 Puerto Ricans -- the largest population of Puerto Ricans outside of the island, Bill is keenly aware of how Washington has failed our fellow citizens living in New York City’s beloved “sixth borough.” That’s why he introduced today his ‘Recovery, Resilience, Relief and Revitalization for the People of Puerto Rico’ plan.
As President, Bill would:
Chip in $1 now to help Bill keep the urgent needs of Puerto Rico in the national conversation.
Two years after Maria, recovery is still a long way off for Puerto Rico due to the failure of Donald Trump and apathetic Washington politicians. It’s time to provide the resources American citizens are owed to recover from such a disaster.
Bill’s administration would treat Puerto Ricans as the American citizens they are — but it can’t be done without your help.
Let’s keep fighting,
Team de Blasio
