John,
Despite all the misinformation flying around, absentee voting, or voting by mail, is a completely safe and secure option for casting your ballot. And in the middle of a pandemic that’s still raging and disproportionately affecting domestic workers, Black women, and women of color, it’s also the safest option.
Election Day is 28 days away. If you’re planning to vote by mail, you should start the process now! Visit our Voter Hub to request your ballot.
Being #MailReady means you can:
- Vote at your convenience;
- Take your time with your choices;
- Keep polling locations safe on Election Day, November 3rd.
After you receive your ballot, there are a few things to keep in mind:
-
Different states have different deadlines for returning your ballot in person, but you’re usually able to drop off your ballot before Election Day;
- Depending on the state you are voting in, you can return your ballot at your polling place, your local election office, or a designated ballot drop box;
- You can also mail your ballot in, but you should do that as soon as possible -- at least seven days before the deadline. While deadlines change from state to state, it’s a good rule of thumb to mail your ballots no later than October 25th.
We have a right to have a say on who represents us -- from the president and senators, on down to representatives at the local level -- without putting our health and safety on the line. Vote by mail keeps us all safe while allowing us to exercise our right to vote. Request your mail-in ballot today.
Thanks,
