John, imagine a scenario where no candidate gets the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency. This is unlikely, but not impossible.
When that happens, the House will decide who is the next President, according to the 12th Amendment. Each state gets 1 vote. And each state’s vote is decided by its delegation in the US House.
Republicans hold the majority of state delegations: 26 states have a GOP majority, 22 states have a Democratic majority, while there’s a tie in Pennsylvania and the Michigan delegation has seven Democrats, six Republicans and Independent Rep. Justin Amash.
It all comes down to our election. If we win, Republicans lose their state delegation majority. And to win this, we have to get up on TV and send mailers across one of the largest districts in the country.
