In The Name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful.
I bear witness that there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is His Messenger.
***Notice of Correction: In the Introductory letter to Study Guide 18 dated March 29, 1991, there was a critical omission on page 1 , paragraph 7. The correct sentence reads:
“No wonder the Honorable Elijah Muhammad asked the question, ”How strong is the Foundation? Can we survive?” The Foundation is the forty–four (44) years of the Work of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, the Nation of Islam and its successes.” (link to letter)
Assignment: October 9, 2020

As-Salaam Alaikum!
Dear Supporters, Friends and Fellow Students:
The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan is and has always been guiding us from Allah (God). This Study Guide 18, “Rising Above Emotion Into the Thinking of God,” is yet another proof of this fact, and of the Mercy and Grace of Allah to us all. He writes,
“If we are to survive our test, we must see beyond the view of the onlooker who sees with limited knowledge, understanding and a lack of faith. We must be careful, lest we become one whose emotions cause us to judge this situation as a grievous one and end up sentenced to death by virtue of our own judgment.”
This week our reading begins with the section entitled "Introduction". We will discuss the first 6 paragraphs after the quote from Isaiah 42:8,14. As we go through this unit, let us remember the title: Rising Above Emotion Into The Thinking of God . It is part of an entire course, Self Improvement: The Basis for Community Development. As we go through each paragraph, lets approach it with the precise methodology provided in the introductory letter to the Course.
“Each student, after studying the principle under analysis, must then analyze self and critique self. The Self-Improvement Study Course, while leading the student to self-examination, first; self-analysis, second; self-correction, third; must simultaneously be therapeutic. Therefore, the student’s use of the study guides must be twofold, consisting of both theory and practice. The practice will refine the theory.”
