Broad-Based Categorical Eligibility Template for the Early Education Sector

Dear Early Education community:

CLASP has created a template to help child care and early education stakeholders comment on the Trump Administration’s proposed rule that would nearly eliminate broad-based categorical eligibility (BBCE) from SNAP. This rule would have horrific consequences for children and families across the country, taking SNAP away from more than 3 million people nationwide and causing more than 500,000 children to lose automatic access to free school lunch. The rule would especially harm working families with children.

CLASP encourages you to comment in opposition to the rule and to share this template with your networks so they can comment. Please alter the template to add your unique perspective and experience and further explain why you and/or your organization oppose the proposed regulation.

Comments on the proposed rule are due by 11:59pm on September 23, 2019.

Please contact [email protected] if you have questions.

Please submit your comments here: https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2019/07/24/2019-15670/revision-of-categorical-eligibility-in-the-supplemental-nutrition-assistance-program-snap#open-comment

You can either copy and paste directly into the comment box or you can upload a PDF NOTE THAT COMMENTS REQUIRE SOME DEGREE OF UNIQUE CONTENT IN ORDER TO BE COUNTED INDIVIDUALLY.
