The Missouri Conference Center in Columbia is closing early today due to an Internet and phone outage that began late this morning and is ongoing. Staff will be working from home and can still be contacted via email.

Webinar on Low Number of Young Elders 

The Lewis Center for Church Leadership of Wesley Theological Seminary will host a webinar panel discussion with younger clergy and candidates on the findings of the recent Clergy Age Trends in the United Methodist Church report. The report revealed that the number of young elders returned to near record lows this past year after four consecutive years of decline, erasing a decade of progress. During the webinar young clergy and candidates will explore the motivations, challenges, and needs of younger people pursuing a call to ministry. “The Crisis of Younger Clergy: Young Clergy and Candidates Speak Out” is Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at noon Eastern time.
