Friend,

Every day we wait to take action to prevent gun violence, we put the safety of our loved ones, communities, and every American at risk.

That's why as Jason returns to Congress, one of his top priorities is immediately addressing the epidemic of gun violence sweeping our nation.

It's past time to start treating gun violence like the crisis it is, but the U.S. Senate refuses to bring a vote on any gun safety measures that the House passes. Add your name to demand the Senate pass common-sense gun safety legislation NOW.

Gun safety measures are an urgent priority for House Democrats, and Jason won't rest until positive steps are taken to protect Americans and secure our communities from gun violence.

Jason helped pass the most comprehensive gun safety bill that Washington has seen in nearly two decades earlier this year. This bipartisan legislation would strengthen background checks, require more waiting periods before purchasing, and close loopholes that allow dangerous people to get their hands on weapons.

But Republicans in the U.S. Senate, led by Mitch McConnell, have buried this bill in their legislative graveyard and refuse to bring it -- and any bill like it -- to the floor. This is absurd.

It's time for the U.S. Senate to follow the example of House Democrats and start showing leadership immediately. Sign the petition today and join Jason in demanding that Mitch McConnell and the U.S. Senate start taking gun violence seriously. Lives depend on it.
