Hey Swing Left,

There's less than one month until Election Day (😅)—and that means campaigns are almost out of time to spend money effectively. So today, we’re working with Sister District to raise some last-minute dollars for ten state legislature races.

You may be wondering why we’re asking for money when Democrats have been breaking fundraising records left and right. A lot of those dollars are going to the presidential and Senate levels—we want to make sure the same resources are going down-ballot where dollars have the biggest impact.

By winning these ten seats, we can put a check on Republican gerrymandering for the next ten years. Donate today—every dollar goes directly to these ten state legislative candidates: Doug Ervin (AZ LD-20), Judy Schwiebert (AZ LD-20), Coral Evans (AZ LD-6), Felicia French (AZ LD-6), Anton Andrew (PA HD-160 ), Julie Slomski (PA SD-49), Frances Jackson (NC HD-45), Ricky Hurtado (NC HD-63), Natali Hurtado (TX HD-126), and Akilah Bacy (TX HD-138).

Our joint slate supports Democrats running for key state legislature seats in Arizona, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Texas. All four of these states have slim GOP majorities in the state legislatures—by winning these seats, we can fundamentally change the balance in each state.

In 2021, many state legislatures will redraw their congressional maps for the next decade. If we don’t have a seat at the table in these key states, the GOP can further gerrymander the maps to make it easier for Republicans to win future congressional races. In short, these state legislatures could determine who controls the House in 2022.

With 29 days left until Election Day, candidates have very little time to use these dollars effectively to contact voters. Donate today to make sure these ten candidates have the means to win, right when they need it most.
