My name is Ashley Harris and I’m a volunteer with the UNITE HERE Take Back 2020 phone bank. Before I was laid off in March due to COVID-19, I was a cocktail server at Harrah’s Chester Casino in PA for 10 years. I have a daughter, 2 nieces, and 10 nephews, and it’s my job to pave the way for them to have a better future.

When Black Lives Matters protests erupted across the country this summer, I joined them here in Philly. I want the children in my family to be able to walk down the street and not feel threatened. I don’t want racism to hold them back or make them feel like they’re not good enough. I want them to have a good education and better opportunities than I had.
We have the power to give our children a better future. That’s why I proudly joined UNITE HERE’s Phone Bank to Take Back 2020--join me in making calls to voters in these critical last few weeks before November 3rd!
I talk to a lot of swing state voters who feel unsure about how to safely vote during this pandemic. I answer their questions and stay on the phone with them until they feel confident about their voting plan. I tell them why their vote counts, and how if we stick together, we can truly make a change. Every phone call I make takes me one step closer to Taking Back our Future for my daughter, nieces and nephews.
