What's Happening at the Center
In his latest commentary ([link removed]) , Mark Krikorian explains that while the Trump administration has had plenty of stumbles on immigration, they have also had many accomplishments, which were achieved in the face of implacable, even maniacal, opposition. The wall is, in fact, being built and the administration has persuaded Mexico to work to reduce the number of bogus asylum claims by Central Americans, claims that were threatening to make the border fence irrelevant. Refugee resettlement, which had become a racket run by State Department contractors, has been reformed. Rules have been implemented to make immigrants more self sufficient and steps have been taken to limit birth tourism. And the administration has made efforts to protect American workers. All of these actions have been accomplished by executive actions, despite a hostile judiciary and a national legislature that has refused to legislate.
