Senator Elizabeth Warren just put Henry Cuellar and Dan Lipinski on notice
by endorsing the two Justice Democrat candidates who are fighting to
replace them. Marie Newman (IL-03) and Jessica Cisneros (TX-28) are two
powerful progressive champions fighting for Medicare for All, a Green New
Deal, an end to Trump’s mass incarceration and deportation regime, and so
much more.

This is a critical message to send to the Democratic establishment. The
DCCC is already intentionally aligning itself with one Democrat who is
vehemently pro-NRA and another who is anti-choicefor no other reason than
blanket support of every incumbent. Meanwhile, Lipinski and Cuellar
flagrantly boost Republican talking points, trash progressive ideals, and
embarrass the Democratic Party.

It’s time for them to go. That’s why we were proud to help launch Jessica
Cisneros’ campaign, and endorse Marie Newman’s effort to depose this
conservative Democrat. But they need your help to pull it off.

Lipinski and Cuellar both have massive corporate warchests amassed from
wealthy donors who want to protect their privileged status, stop any
change, and keep a stranglehold over our political system. Jessica and
Marie need new strong, early organizing programs to inspire voters, get
people off the sidelines, and visit as many doorsteps as humanly possible.

The people of IL-03 and TX-28 deserve systemic change. They deserve
leaders who will fight for working-class values, not with obstructionist
Republicans. For too long, Democrats have been afraid to call out members
of our own caucus who are doing harm to our voters, to our values, and to
our nation. Elizabeth Warren is helping break that taboo, because we’re
not stuck with mediocre, corporate, and conservative Democratic
incumbents.

The majority of Americans live in safe red or blue districts. We have
primaries for a reason — so that people across the country can express
their political preferences, and can fight for a democracy that truly
represents them. Let’s use the tools we have, and elect Jessica Cisneros
and Marie Newman in 2020.
