The Restaurant Organizing Project of Los Angeles (ROP-LA) is a collective of restaurant workers, front and back of house, who are organizing to transform the service industry in Los Angeles. While COVID-19 brought much of the abuse and indignities that restaurant workers suffer to the surface, we know that these issues have been happening long before the pandemic. We are working to find solutions that worker-based and worker driven. Whether you are a bartender, a barista, a waiter, line cook, or busser, we want you to be part of our movement.

The Political Education committee invites DSA-LA members for a training in the art of the one-on-one organizing conversation where you’ll learn and practice how to have a successful conversation that moves people to action.
In this first session, we’ll go over the basics of a successful one-on-one organizing conversation, practice the conversations together, then attendees will be asked to put their skills to use during the course of the five-week recruitment drive running from October 1-November 7th by asking three people in their network to join DSA Los Angeles using the 1-1 conversation model.
If you’re an organizer in DSA Los Angeles, this is an essential skill that takes practice, so we invite you to join us for this important training!
