Ireland’s youth delegates to the United Nations officially announced

** Dear John,
------------------------------------------------------------
We're delighted to announce that Valery Molay ([link removed]) from Dublin and Jack O’Connor ([link removed]) from Kilcolman, County Limerick have been selected to join Ireland’s official delegation to the United Nations for 2019 – 2020, representing young people in Ireland at a global level.

Valery and Jack have already travelled to Geneva where they discussed issues relating to youth participation, young voices, LGBTQI+, human rights, reducing civil society space and discrimination.

Tomorrow they travel to New York to attend the High Level Political Forum focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals and how they are being achieved at local, national and global levels.

At the UN, the delegates will work closely with Ireland’s Permanent Mission to the UN and will have the opportunity to represent the youth of Ireland during sessions of the UN committee dealing with human rights issues.

Consultation - get in touch

Valery and Jack will be engaging in extensive consultation throughout the year. Those holding youth events in Ireland can contact [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) to invite the Irish UN Youth Delegates to attend. The delegates will also address a Youth Summit as part of One World Week organised by the NYCI.
