News from us # Moto Rally for Mozambique
Are you a motorcycle enthusiast? Join Missouri Bishop Bob Farr as he travels around the Missouri Conference on his motorcycle in support of the Mozambique Initiative. If you would like to participate in this motorcycle trek across the state, please register so that you can receive updates and information about the journey. There is no fee to participate in the ride, and riders are welcome to come and go, riding short segments with the group along the way.

Schedule
The ride in Missouri will take place September 29 – October 2 and will pass through all nine Missouri Conference districts. Each Day will start and end at a different location. The evenings will conclude with a 30-minute program on the work and ministry of the Mozambique Initiative. This program is open to all in the community and, even if you don’t ride a motorcycle, please consider coming to a program in your area to celebrate this important ministry shared across Missouri. If you are a supporter of the Mozambique Initiative or would like to learn more about the work and opportunities to engage, join us for an evening meeting near you!

Partner With Us
The purpose of the ride is to raise money in order to purchase motorcycles for United Methodist pastors in Mozambique. Remote areas of Mozambique lack good roads motorcycles, which are the most common and practical form of transportation. One of these bikes costs $2,000. If you want to partner with Missouri bikers to help purchase motorbikes for Mozambican pastors, there are two ways to give.
Send a Check: make the check out to the “Missouri Annual Conference,” and write “Mozambique Motorcycles on the memo line. Please mail the check to the address below.

Columbia, MO 65202 Text to give: text the amount you'd like to give, plus the initials "MI" (For example, 50 MI) to 573-207-4546 and you will be directed through the rest of the giving process. For the next three weeks all monies received through the MI text-to-give code will be used for Mozambique motorcycles.
If you would like to support the Missouri Bikers by donating per mile driven, here is a breakdown of donation per mile:
Total estimated miles: 850 $0.10 per mile = $85
$0.25 per mile = $212.50
$0.50 per mile = $425
$1 per mile = $850
