“We’re not in a good place,” said Dr. Anthony Fauci. “[T]here are states that are starting to show an uptick in cases and even some increases in hospitalization in some states. And, I hope not, but we very well might start seeing increases in deaths.”
Dr. Fauci’s warning is dire. And it comes at a time when Republican leaders across the country, under Trump’s direction, are unjustly rolling back pandemic restrictions to appease the president -- at the great cost of American lives.
It’s October, 7 months since quarantine protocols began, and we are still averaging 40,000 cases a day. Dr. Fauci says it’s “unacceptably high.” And we know that Donald Trump has privately said that COVID-19 is “deadly stuff,” yet he and his cronies continue to unleash their smear campaign against Dr. Fauci and other public health officials.
