[link removed] While many schools across the country have opted for hybrid learning or have opened their doors completely, California is yet again behind and refuses to let our children attend classes.

John,

In recent weeks, my campaign has heard from parents throughout the district who
are upset that their children are unable to attend school for in person
learning. 

As a parent, I know the importance of education and how impactful learning in
person is for our children. While many schools across the country have opted for
hybrid learning or have opened their doors completely, California is yet again
behind and refuses to let our children attend classes. Governor Newsom and other
local leaders have failed Californians yet again. 

While the COVID-19 pandemic has been challenging for everyone, we cannot allow
our leadership to continue to put extreme burdens on working families. Our
children deserve the best education opportunities available and we must come
together to call on local leaders to open our schools.

Enough is enough, John. Join us in sending a message to our local leaders that it is time to reopen our schools so our children get the education they deserve.

We know that kids do their best learning when they are in the classroom with peers. There are safety measures that schools can take to ensure student’s safety while also providing them with a way to learn in person. 

But, John, the failure of our leadership doesn’t just hurt our children.
It hurts our hard working families who have to make the heartbreaking choice of helping their children get the education they need or going to work to put food on the table.

It is time for Governor Newsom to listen to local leaders as they lay out smart and safe plans to reopen schools.
His top down approach hasn’t worked over the past 6 months and is certainly not the best practice for California’s educators.
