If Republicans win state legislatures this fall, we'll see a repeat of the past decade. The GOP will gerrymander maps in their favor and pass voter suppression laws so they can maintain power and block our progress. The only difference is that they will be even more emboldened because the courts are on their side.
Right now, the GOP is trying to rush this Supreme Court nomination because they know we have the power to defeat them in elections up and down the ballot this fall. Republicans are afraid of losing in states like Texas, where we've made historic investments to flip the state House. If Democrats win control of state legislatures, we can thwart their plan to manipulate maps for another ten years.
