Friend,

If you’re anything like most Americans, you’re disgusted by our nation’s current politics. Democrats and Republicans perpetually scream at, rather than work with one another. Our leaders appear more intent on exploiting divisions than solving problems. Rather than doing what American families do all the time—sitting down at the kitchen table to balance competing priorities—elected officials remain perpetually at odds. That’s no way to run a family, let alone a nation.

No Labels is the only organization in Washington trying to fix this deep-seated problem from the bottom up and from the inside out. We’ll never get beyond the dysfunction in Washington unless leaders and citizens both begin talking to one another in a civilized, open-minded way. We’re already making progress in Washington, having inspired creation of the Problem Solvers Caucus, a group of 25 Democrats and 25 Republicans who sit down every week and hash through their differences. And now we want to do more to spread the same collaborative spirit throughout America.

So here’s what we’re doing right now. We’re partnering with Artisanal Premium Cheese, a terrific company that delivers the very best cheeses produced by small dairy farms around America, to package and prepare what we’re calling “Problem Solving Cheese Kits". Cheese, as it turns out, has long been used in Washington to broker compromise. President Thomas Jefferson received a 1,600 pound block of cheese from farmers in Western Massachusetts during his term in office—and President Andrew Jackson received a similarly awe-inspiring hunk, which was served at the end of his administration to revelers who visited the White House.

Today, No Labels and Artisanal Premium Cheese want to build on that tradition, using these kits as impetus for you to invite a friend or neighbor to join you (in a socially distanced way) for a relaxed and delicious conversation about America’s future. Each Problem Solving Cheese Kit features four different cheeses from four different parts of the country, highlighting the great diversity of entrepreneurialism that makes America so strong. At a moment when people feel stuck, we think these Problem Solving Cheese Kits will bring a smile to everyone who receives one delivered to their doorstep.

ORDER YOUR PROBLEM SOLVER CHEESE KIT TODAY!

But in No Labels’ spirit of bringing people together—and with the quintessentially American tradition of breaking bread with friends and neighbors in mind—we have a suggestion. If you order a Problem Solving Cheese Kit for your family, we’d encourage you to purchase one for at least one other family. And we’re hoping you’ll send the cheese kit to someone that you suspect is going to vote for someone other than the candidate you want to win.

If you’re a Biden supporter, we’re hoping that you’ll buy a Problem Solving Cheese Kit for yourself and also one for someone who’s a proud supporter of President Trump. If you’re planning to vote for the president’s re-election, we hope you’ll send your second Problem Solving Cheese Kit to someone who likes Biden. And we’re hoping you can get on Facetime or Zoom or Skype to have a civil conversation while you enjoy your cheese, perhaps even about something other than politics.

Things will be heated through the campaign season. But after the dust settles, we will need to come together as a national community to focus on addressing the nation’s big challenges. We’ve partnered with Artisanal Premium Cheese in part because, well, we like cheese, and we want to support the entrepreneurs from all around America who make and sell it. But by bringing a diversity of tastes together, we also want to make a point: Americans may have different views on who should be president—but they all want America to succeed. Much as Washington may be more divided than almost ever, we rise and fall as a nation together.

Sincerely,

Nancy Jacobson
