Last chance to stop Trump's clearcutting plan? ? ? ? EMERGENCY ALERT: STOP THE CLEARCUTTING

The Trump administration is moving at break-neck speed to destroy the largest national forest in America. This latest attack on public lands poses a major threat to the Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian people.

Congress must step in before it's too late. Be one of the 5,000 people we need today to tell your representative to stop the Tongass clearcutting plan.

Send your message now ? [link removed] ? ? ? ? ? Friend,

Unless we act now, bulldozers and logging trucks will soon be roaring into Alaska's Tongass National Forest, home to the Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian people and a critical natural carbon sink. Old-growth trees that have stood for hundreds of years and store vast stores of carbon will be clearcut and hauled away. And the local Indigenous communities will pay the price.

The Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian people depend on the Tongass. It is part of their home and their heritage. But the Trump administration has ignored their outcry and slashed protections for the Tongass.

This is our last chance to protect the Tongass. Tell Congress to reject Trump's clearcutting scheme and restore protections for the Tongass. GOAL: 5,000 Actions Today ? [link removed]

The Roadless Rule is an essential protection for places like the Tongass. It prevents logging and mining companies from paving their way into the heart of the forest, sending in trucks, destroying communities and nature, and causing vast carbon emissions in the name of profits.

But the Trump administration has issued a rule eliminating Roadless Rule protections from over 9 million acres ? a vast territory that is essential for Indigenous Alaskan communities.

Congress can save the Tongass by making the Roadless Rule federal law. The legislation exists ? all it takes is the political will to pass it into law.

We must act now. Add your name ? [link removed]

We've seen this pattern before. While the nation's attention is focused on the election, on the ongoing pandemic, on the latest scandal ? corporations keep lobbying. The Trump administration tries to sneak through dangerous new policies that will undo decades of work. They think they can get away with it as long as nobody speaks out.

They're wrong. The Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian have made it clear: They will not let the place they call home be destroyed without a fight. Add your voice to theirs, and stop Trump's outrageous attack on the Tongass.`

Be one of 5,000 people to tell Congress today: Pass permanent wilderness protections now ? [link removed]

Thanks for doing your part.
