[ [link removed] ]New York Times: Trump’s Diagnosis Imperils Quick Supreme Court
Confirmation Timeline

"A coronavirus outbreak that infected President Trump and spread to the
Senate threw a fresh element of uncertainty on Friday into the politically
fraught fight over installing Judge Amy Coney Barrett on the Supreme Court
before Election Day."

[ [link removed] ]Delays mean the AZ and GA Senate races could deny McConnell the votes
he needs to replace RBG because the winners can be seated early -- in
November.

The growing coronavirus outbreak among Senate Republicans adds credence to
a MAJOR political insight you may not be hearing elsewhere... about a
potential way to block Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump's plan to ram
extreme conservative Amy Coney Barrett onto the Supreme Court.

Two tight Senate races this November -- Mark Kelly in Arizona and Rev.
Raphael Warnock in Georgia -- are also special elections against appointed
senators. If we win, the Democrats could get seated in November, not
January like everyone else -- potentially changing the balance of power in
the Senate.

With 3 Republican senators testing positive for Covid-19, and others
quarantining due to confirmed exposures, Mitch McConnell just announced
that the Senate will not meet this week as originally planned.

[ [link removed] ]Turning the Arizona and Georgia Senate seats blue could potentially
deny McConnell the votes he needs to replace RBG if they can't force a
vote before the election. Can you join thousands of PCCC members who have
rushed emergency donations to these key races? And pass this email to
others?

Vox reports, "One wrinkle is the Arizona Senate contest, which is a
special election. Republican Sen. Martha McSally currently holds the seat.
But if the Democratic nominee, Mark Kelly, defeats her, he will likely be
seated before the other new senators -- once the results of the election
are certified, which could be in late November."

The same is true in Georgia if Rev. Raphael Warnock gets over 50% against
ethically-challenged Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler.

Mark Kelly is a former astronaut whose life has been personally impacted
by gun violence when his wife, former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, almost
lost her life in a shooting. He's campaigning on stricter gun laws, paid
family leave, and closing the wage gap. He's also emphasizing the urgency
of the climate crisis -- saying that, as an astronaut, we only have one
world and need to save it.

Warnock is pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church, the same church where
Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. served as pastor. He is rejecting
corporate PAC money and campaigning on voting rights, secure elections,
and ending private prisons.

The Cook Political Report lists these races among the most contested in
the nation. Arizona leans Democrat, Georgia leans Republican -- both will
be down to the wire. FiveThirtyEight shows Kelly leading in Arizona and
Warnock within five points in Georgia.
