The debate just ended and I hope I made you proud.

Look John, I never thought I'd run for Senate. But I'm a scrappy farm kid, so I never back down from a tough fight. Tonight's debate -- and flipping this seat -- is no different. This was an opportunity to share my plans about how I'll fight to protect our hard-earned benefits, expand access to affordable health care, and make Washington work for all of us in the Senate.

So when my opponent lied about her record during the debate, you can bet that got me hot under the collar.

Folks I am fired up. I'm fired up to flip this seat and take back the Senate. I'm fired up to make progress about the issues we all care about.

I'm fired up because Senator Ernst told us she'd "make 'em squeal," but when she got to Washington, she voted with McConnell and her party leaders 97% of the time. Now, she's lying about her record because she doesn't want hardworking Americans to know who she's really fighting for -- McConnell and her big corporate donors.

Hardworking Americans deserve a senator who will fight for the people they were elected to serve. I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work, but this race is the closest in the entire country. I need your help to get this job done.

Control of the Senate hinges on Iowa. I'm tied with my opponent 47-47 and Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight just moved our race to a "toss up!" But McConnell and his allies are spending over $65 MILLION to defeat this grassroots team. I don't take a dime of corporate PAC money, so to fight back I'm counting on you. Flipping the Senate has never been more important and I know that together we can get it done.
