Dear John,

In just 30 days, election 2020 will be history…maybe.

I say maybe because with election laws changing with recent court orders in our state and others and with all the unrest and uncertainty over COVID and more, I believe it’s very possible we won’t have the final result of this election reported as usual.

But that uncertainty, should not stop us from doing what we can to ensure good consequences from this critical election.  At some point after November 3, we will have elected our next US President. And, by our votes, (16 of 33) of our State Senators (even-numbered districts), all eight members of Congress and other local partisan officials.

My request today is simple in words but beyond our comprehension in power.

Please join us in prayer.

At your convenience, will you take a few minutes each day between now and the election, to PRAY?

Please pray for our president especially now that he and the First Lady have tested positive for COVID. Pray for our country, for all our elected officials, and for godly men and women to be elected. Pray for GOOD consequences and GOOD laws and policies that honor God. Please pray Christians will rise up in unprecedented numbers to honor God with their vote.

We are challenged and reminded in 2 Chronicles 7:14,

“if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”  (NKJV)

That is my plea. While given specifically to Israel, in principle this verse certainly applies to other times, places and people, including us in America today.
