CNN: “An assistant US attorney in Massachusetts is the latest federal prosecutor to criticize Attorney General William Barr, accusing the top law enforcement official of a “dangerous abuse of power” by politicizing his position and doing the bidding of President Donald Trump.”
This is only the latest warning that Barr’s commitment to solely serving Trump’s political interests is a threat to our democracy. In May, nearly 2,000 former Justice Department employees called for Barr to resign when he moved to drop charges against former national security adviser Michael Flynn. And in June, two Justice Department prosecutors proclaimed that Barr’s politicization of the office directly caused Roger Stone’s watered-down sentence.
We can’t allow our attorney general to continue committing such egregious acts. There’s no stopping the abuse of power within his own party, so it’s up to us to rally for his impeachment.
