I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I had 11 brothers and sisters and grew up in public housing on the west side of Savannah, Georgia. But with the support of my family and my community, I went on to earn a college degree - and 15 years ago, I was blessed to be called to serve as the senior pastor at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s church.

Now, I'm running to become Georgia's first-ever Black senator - because the opportunities that made my journey possible, from Kayton Homes to Dr. King's pulpit, are growing further and further out of reach for too many people across this country. We have a chance to change that by winning this race and taking back the Senate, but not without support from grassroots folks like you.

With just one month left until the most consequential election of our lifetimes, we're falling short of the resources we need to power our campaign to victory. Democrats cannot take back the Senate and protect the future of the Supreme Court if we lose this critical battleground state. That's why, with polls showing this race locked in a dead heat, Mitch McConnell and the GOP are pulling out all the stops to defeat me - and why my opponent, Kelly Loeffler (R) is spending $20 million of her own money to buy this seat.

So please, friend, this is important.
