ATTENDING THE OPENING OF A NEW STATE-OF-THE-ART-RESEARCH FACILITY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS
Today I attended the ribbon cutting at the new state-of-the-art Texas Robotics Research Lab in the Anna Hiss Gymnasium on the University of Texas' campus. This facility will combine the research power of the University of Texas' programs with the knowledge and expertise of the U.S. Army Futures Command. There is no better place for this partnership than right here in Austin, which continues to grow as the epicenter of research and innovation in America. God bless our military and God bless Texas. |

Lifting up prayers for President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump after they tested positive for coronavirus this morning.
May God's healing powers touch them, strengthen them, and raise them up. |
THE STATE OF TEXAS IS RESPONDING TO DEADLY AMEBA FOUND IN LAKE JACKSON
My heart aches for the parents of the little boy killed by a rare ameba in Lake Jackson, Texas.
It steels our resolve to use every tool we have to help Lake Jackson clean its water system to ensure this never happens again. Residents should continue to heed to order of local officials. A Boil Water Notice is still in effect for the City of Lake Jackson. |
RECOGNIZING TWO CORPUS CHRISTI BLUE RIBBON SCHOOLS
Yesterday, I visited Corpus Christi to recognize two schools that were recently named Nation Blue Ribbon Schools in 2020: Windsor Park Elementary School and the Early Childhood Development Center.
The recognition is a testament to Texas' educational excellence. Congratulations to the students, parents, teachers, and administrators on this well-deserved honor. |
SECURITY OFFICER WHO KILLED WHITE SETTLEMENT SHOOTER WON'T FACE CHARGES
Security officer Jack Wilson won't face charges after taking down an active shooter at West Freeway Church of Christ last year.
This is why the 2nd Amendment is needed to defend against murderous attacks. |
PROPERTY CRIME IS RISING IN TEXAS' CAPITAL CITY
Property crime is rising in Austin according to new data released from the Austin Police Department.
This is the kind of thing that happens when cities defund and de-emphasize police. Residents are left to fend for themselves. My plan puts an end to this by requiring cities to fund law enforcement. |
SUPREME COURT NOMINEE AMY CONEY BARRETT IS A PHENOMENAL CHOICE
Amy Coney Barrett will be an outstanding U.S. Supreme Court Justice. She has a brilliant legal mind, exceptional character and an unflinching commitment to the Constitution.
The Senate should swiftly confirm her to the Supreme Court just as it recently confirmed her to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. |
